WHAT IS IT?
Wildwalls is a nature-themed design competition for young people sponsored by Ecocem who provide low carbon cement technologies.
Young people across Ireland are invited to design a wall mural for their school that raises awareness of biodiversity issues but also integrates features to support local wildlife. Open to pre, primary, secondary and homeschools in Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. BENEFITS OF WILDWALLS
With biodiversity loss posing as much of a challenge as climate change, creatively reimagining spaces for nature wherever we can is essential - especially for schools where space can be very limited. HOW TO ENTER
|
Tip: Remember, you need to create a design that carries a message about biodiversity as well as integrating features to help local wildlife. For example a mural that has "birds" as a theme but which also incorporates real nest boxes or a mural with the theme of "pollinators" which includes imagery of flowers but also real solitary bee nest boxes. Also, think about the immediate surroundings of the mural and if there is a way to integrate ideas such as real tree planting or real pond creation. Create your mural to suit the shape of the wall you have available.
