TREES

Helping Trees at School

One of the most essential things biodiversity gives us is our air - we couldn't go very long without that! It is estimated that we each need about 7 to 8 trees to provide our oxygen for the entire year. That's at least 175 trees for the average Irish primary school classroom. Thankfully, across the planet we have over 3 trillion trees. While that sounds good, we are losing 10 billion trees every year - about an area the size of Croke Park every 3 seconds. This trend is bad for us, the trees and for the habitats they provide. So, let's do something about it!
