Pitches for Pollinators

We absolutely LOVE this idea suggested by the All Ireland Pollinator Plan. It's deliciously simple, free, saves time, saves money, saves fuel and is highly impactful. We also love it as it calls into question our habits we all easily fall into!

Just stop cutting the grass on the school pitch over the summer - let the wildflowers bloom! If it's not being used why not let it grow for July and August. Even longer if you're a secondary school. If you can't leave it for the whole summer at the very least drastically cut back your mowing regime.

There you go, another ridiculously easy task that involves doing nothing at all!
